Tweedlove offer

For those of you who haven’t seen it, heres a link too the great event that is Tweedlove. The Glentress 7 is a cracking wee race and there’s a discounted offer running in January for entries. For the eagle eyed among you, you may even spot me in the promo film…
Anyway, its a pretty easy course and well worth an entry if you’ve never raced before.

10@Kirroughtree

Back from a fantastic weekend of racing at Kirroughtree. Weather held up and raced in the sunshine for the first time this year. New course again with some great decents. Our team were in line for a podium position until my other team members decided they were too knackered to do any more laps. Oh well, there’s always next year….. Try it if you haven’t already. D

Glentress 7 – Tweedlove

Had a great time at the Glentress 7 race on Saturday. The race was really well organised and the marshall’s were the most supportive bunch of guys I’ve ever seen at a race – well done. Pretty much an xc route with a couple of steep climbs with the rain adding some interesting line choices later in the day. Fantastic event and definitely worth doing, the guys at Tweedlove managed a sterling job of hosting it. Oh, and I managed 8th.

661 Enduro at Ae

Just completed the first in a series of Enduro events held throughout the UK. The first stage was at a VERY wet Ae and saw the seeding on the slippy downhill stage on the Saturday. Most folks entered on a 5/6″ travel bike although I saw some on 8″ downhill bikes, xc and even a single speed jump bike.

I had various mishaps at every stage – Stage 1 – missed my start by 4 minutes as was sheltering form the rain. Stage 2 – punctured and rode section with a flat rear. Stage 3 – adjustable seat post jammed 10 seconds before the start. Stage 5 – seat snapped off the rails and had to ride slippy forrest section with the rails digging into inner thigh.

All that said it was great fun and I came around 85th overall. Looking forward to Inners already…..

Stolen bike

Last week (13/4/11) 4 wee neds nicked my bike from outside my house during the day. It was locked onto my car and they managed to free it off. So I guess firstly – be a bit more vigilant than usual, there are a lot of wee dodgy guys out there that want your shiny stuff. And secondly if you see or here about it please let me know.

Here’s the spec; Santa Cruz Chameleon – yellow, white sprayed revelations with farahjay graphic, pure racing i900 seatpost, fixik gobi ti seat, sunline 745 bars, xo shifters, x9 mech, elixir 5 brakes, slx crankset, hope pro 2 hubs on 719 rims, superstar flats, high rollers, odi ruffians.

(couple of changes since the photo was taken)
