Me, Sanny and Kev headed down to The Lakes for a cracking day of riding. Note to self – when Sanny says wee hill he means anything less than 1000 feet.
6 1/2 hours in the saddle, 4500 feet of climbing and 25 miles of fun on a pretty much dryish and sunny day. Most of The Borrowdale Bash with extra gnarl was the choice for the day, much recommended.
Here’s a wee film, enjoy –
Mountain biking in The Lakes – March 2013 from Dene Happell on Vimeo.
Today after much stress, keyboard tapping, website crashing, and general French faffing I managed to secure tickets for this years Passportes. However during the whole shenanigans I now have 5 tickets and only need 2. The spare tickets are for the Saturday race, 2 leaving from Morzine and the other leaving from Avoriaz (dont ask).
So before I head back to the organisers and ask for a refund on these 3 tickets I thought I’d put it out there and see if anyone wants them first. Cost is €79, this includes a top.
I’m posting this on other sites so its first come first served.
Planning to get the ice tyres on and head out at 7pm. Anyone else heading out? brrrr
I’m selling loads of bike parts from a bike I built and have ridden very little.
Parts include ; SLX cranks and BB, Mavic 719’s on Hope Pro 2’s, Superstar nano flats, Rockshox Revs Air U-Turn, Thomson 70mm stem, Sunline V-One bars, xo shifters, x9 mech, KS i900 plus remote seatpost, Avid Elixr 5 brakes, Fizik Gobi xm saddle, high rollers.
Plus a really nice, hardly used, hard hardtail frame.
Give me a shout if interested, on ebay/Singletrack/tinterweb in a week or so.

Glorious Autumn descent with the bikes down Skiddaw and Ulllock Pike with a bit of Doups to finish us off.
I nearly gave up the ghost on you after last weeks drenching and ride through your muddy quagmire. Tonight was an altogether different event, dry, almost ‘dusty’ in sections and pretty warm and fresh. It was my next door neighbour, Pat’s first foray into night riding, he went home with a big smile on his face too. The love has returned. Sorry Mugdock for nearly spurning you.
Headed up there on Saturday – gorgeous day and only 2 of us using the uplift! Here’s a wee film of the red run – apologies for the angle, the Gopro moved just as I left. Oh, and my back brake stopped working around 1/4 of the way down….
Here’s a wee film I made of us descending down Vorlich. It’s 10 minutes or so and involves me crashing at around the half way mark. I’ve slowed the crash down for the sadists amongst you. Enjoy.
Anyone fancy a blast round Carron Valley on Wednesday night for a wee change. Probably get a couple of laps in with a wee session on the jumps afterwards.
Meet at the lower carpark ready to ride for 7pm.
Stevie and I headed up the same route as Tom and gang, here’s some shots.
