Premium Rush

Anybody considering a jaunt to the cinema may like to check out Premium Rush. It’s basically an extended high-adrenalin bicycle chase across Manhattan, and while the plot would struggle to fill a side of A5, it’s gripping watching a crazed courier on a brakeless fixie ploughing through the traffic while trying to evade his car-driving pursuer – the stunts are amazing.  Leave your brain at the door, hang on, and enjoy the ride.

After that, found myself pedalling a bit more furiously on the way to work today – despite being on the hardtail I got drafted by a lycra-clad roadie ;~)

Tube change in under a minute

Impressive how fast you can do it when it’s not peeing down, everything covered in mud, you need to find what’s stuck in the tyre and get it out, the first replacement tube is already holed after rattling about in a backpack for 6 months (or not repaired since the last puncture), the tyre is impossibly tight on the rim, the victim has a *ridiculously* small pump, and everybody not involved is passing around jelly babies, offering “advice”, and bitching about being eaten alive by midges.  Ah, the joys of mountain biking! ;~p

Website hacked!

The website was hacked some time Monday PM.  If at any time on Monday or Tuesday you tried to access the site and were redirected to a site purporting to scan your computer and warn you that it was infected, you should immediately ensure that you have valid and up-to-date anti-virus software installed (such as free AVG).  This is especially important if you downloaded anything from the redirection site.

We weren’t being singled-out for special treatment – around 300,000 sites were compromised in the same way.
