Yesterday a cyclist was killed on Paisley Road West in a hit and run. Hope it was no one we know and if you are out on the bike, Be Careful! Get as much reflective gear and lights on as possible.

I have 4 rear lights, 2 on the bike, one on my rucksack and one on my helmet , plus 2 cateye El320 front light and an Altura Night Vision jacket.. Still feel as though no one sees me sometimes….

Just to remind you that I now have the club tops in my possession.  The majority of you are still to get them.  I haven’t been that accessible recently due to various reasons and unfortunately I won’t make it tonight…….in fact, I haven’t been on the bike since the Mabie weekend.

For the folk that haven’t managed to collect yet, please let me know what would be the easiest option to meet me i.e. Tues, Wed, Sun ride?  I’m attending the Yoga night at the hall tomorrow for 7.45pm if it suits?

Eilidh & Bradley, I can deliver yours on my way home tomorrow night as you live on route, please let me know if you’d be in around 10.30pm.

Hi all,
There is a place up in Nethy Bridge called the Mountain Bear Lodge. I’ve been wanting to stay in it for ages now but as in the name its a BIG lodge, suitable for groups and sleeps 16.

It is absolutely gorgeous inside and poses total luxury, complete with outside hot tub, indoor jacuzzi and sauna and has also an outdoor BBQ hut (aka Grillkota). This is not your average bear accommodation!!!!

There is a discount week available for Friday 14 September, making it £18.75 pppn, total cost £131 for a weeks holiday in MTB (hill walking) heaven. I wont go into just how much biking (walking) there is around this area – I think the success of the recent Aviemore trip proved that! I just wondered if there would be any interest in this mega fun trip up north?

The downside is we need to pay the balance on booking because it is a discount week. But if anyone was interested shout up and we might have a bigger better GMBC Aviemore week away!

Just picked this up via Twitter, Carron Valley trails are currently closed due to fallen trees. No word yet on when they expect to have it cleared.

I assume there may be some down at Mugdock too.

EDIT: Carron Valley trails are open again. Hopefully the current storm won’t bring down more trees.
