5 ferries this Sunday anyone ?

Pete, Sanny and I are planning on doing 5 Ferries this Sun, 24th, riding from Wemyss Bay Station 0730 sharp for 945 ferry from Ardrossan. Last minute but were waiting for a good forecast.

So post up here or on FB if you fancy it. Road bikes required and an average pace of 15mph. Its about 65-70 miles, with brekkie on first ferry and sandwiches from Co-op in Tarbert for lunch. Bring snacks and bottles though !  If al goes to plan ferry back to Wemyss bay gets in 6ish

Cree T6 bike light and head mount kit

7 Day Shop are selling the Cree T6 bike light for only £21.99 + £1.99 P+P. Usually delivered within 2 days rather that 3-4 weeks from DealExtreme!

Rather a narrow beam so helmet mount is best. I cut the elastic off the head mount and cable tie it to top of helmet. Tiny and lightweight battery easily gives 3 hours burn time on low setting! The cable is long enough to reach a jersey back pocket.

Great Outdoors Festival – 30th August – 7th September 2014

Great_Outdoors_Festival_2014_EMAIL_&_WEB[1]

The Access Officer at East Dunbartonshire Council has forwarded this on (see attached programme).  There is a Great Outdoors festival being held across East and West Dunbartonshire, the Campsies and the Kilpatricks between 30th August and 7th September. Details of events are on the programme.  Perhaps most notably fro GMBC there is a Path Repair Day at Mugdock Country Park on Saturday 30th August, 10am – 12pm…

Car Parking At The Hall

Hi folks. There’s been a request from the hall that we do not use the main car park closest to the hockey pitches, the one with the bike wash. So if you’re doing a local ride tomorrow (or any night from now on) please bear this in mind. The other parking areas are fine to use although there has been some space put aside temporarily to accommodate Commonwealth Games visitors so the overflow car park maybe be busier than usual.

Avid Elixer Brake Lever Clamps

Stab in the dark here. I’ve bought a set of Elixer 3 brakes off Ebay for the bike I’m building up for my daughter. They have however, come with the matchmaker clamps which are incompatible with the shifters I have. I know plenty have had Elixers but have swapped them for something else. I was wondering if anybody would like to swap their standard clamps for the matchmakers that I have. Alternatively I would be happy to buy the clamps.

Arran Weekend Trip – Last Places!

Hi,

There are three remaining places in the bunkhouse for the Arran trip on the 12th of September (calender link).

The bunkhouse is really comfortable and spacious so grab yourself a slice of luxury biking accomodation for only £36 for the weekend.

These places need to be filled so after next Friday (18th July) I will open any remaining places to non club members. So if you have friends or partners interested please let me know. You can either post on the calender page or drop me an email.
