The insurance has agreed to replace my bikes and so now I have a dilema… 29er or 27.5, full suss or HT?

Any advice on the pros for 29er full suss mtb.   Some say full suss 29ers are only good in straight lines and the cornering is hopeless, comments?

I’m 5ft 8 and would usually ride standard medium bikes, any thoughts on 29er geometry – should I be trying out small frames.

I’ll pop in to Dales at the weekend for a tryout but any advice or experience gratefully accepted.

Is anyone up for riding the Glengarr route- meeting at  bankfoot up to Birnam Woods then rumbling bridge and back through Glengarr?  Wet feet are (very) likely but it’s not a super long ride (25km 3hr or so I think). Big, beautiful open country, only an hour from Glasgow. I would like to leave Glasgow at 8.30am, to be ready to ride just after 9.30am. If you’d like a lift just let me know.

All, I have decided to sell my Kona Caldera as I am putting together a lighter weight hardtail. Please get in touch if you are interested. The bike has been kept indoors for the last ~5years. It would be ideal for someone wanting to put a winter/commuter bike together or entry level.

Any news with the club tops as yet ?

A determined breakin to our hut last night saw ….

1    boarded up window removed – foiled by the inner sheet of 12mm plywood,

2   the door hinges were prised up – foiled by the security bolts, then

3   last resort the panels of the door were prised off leaving the door in place with the security bolts into the frame in tact but a space big enough to remove both my bikes.

Thoughts now turning to floor bolted padlock, lighting and alarms – what a pest.

I’ll keep an eye on Gumtree but hopefully the insurance will sort it all out.

If anyone hears of a Stumpy FSR c 2007 being touted around or

a british racing green hard tail (Gary Fisher Paragon) let me know.

Get those padlocks out now the dark nights are back again

Hi, I’ll add this to the calendar but I thought I’d post up a note first. Anyone fancy a ride at the Comrie Croft trails, Saturday 8th November, 10:30? It’s a great wee trail centre, quite techy in places.
