Road Ride On Sunday to Aberfoyle?

A winter of not riding means I’m toiling for fitness, so I need to get my finger out.  I’ll be doing this: http://www.gmbc.org.uk/event/sunday-road-ride/ on Sunday should anyone want to join me.  Hopefully the weather will be OK – it looks like an improvement towards the end of the week.  It can’t possibly be as bad as yesterday (Sunday)…

Other routes are available, so if you have a better idea I’m open to that.

Velodrome taster session ?

so there is  a bit of chat on the Facebook page about a Club taster session, and a fair number of members have been through the accreditation sessions and ‘have the ticket’.  There are Sunday slots for group bookings, so thinking we could get a slot maybe in March ? – this would probably need 15 people to commit.

I am happy to arrange and will speak to the Velo folk this week about what’s on offer/prices etc.  The drop in sessions and accreditations are around £10 for an hour, which includes bike, helmet (road style only allowed) and shoes (Look Keo), so I’d reckon we would be looking at around a tenner a head.

Post up if interested, and I’ll update on possible dates that suit the majority and are available.

The midweek club rides are at 7.30pm for a 7.45pm start on Wednesdays and start from behind  the Jaw Brew Pub in Milngavie.  Parking is available at Milngavie train station car park.

There’s no need to join GMBC to come along to your first few rides.  The routes and durations vary to suit the conditions & those present.  Covid restrictions permitting, tea, biscuits, changing facilities and bike wash are available afterwards.  All you need is a well maintained off road suitable bike, a spare tube, pump and multi-tool and some enthusiasm.

Please use the GMBC Ride Form to sign up for a published ride.

Remember: no-helmet, no ride!
