Tuesday 6th Fireworks Night Ride

It’s the annual WMD night once again.

The plan: club ride leaves as normal at 7pm from the club car park. Make your way (by any route you find fit) to the usual location at Loch Ardinning for 8pm. You’ll then be greated with warmed mulled wine & hotdogs that the budget can stretch to. They’ll also be a bloody big firework.

The majority of the committee members won’t be there, as we’ll be setting up at Loch Ardinning.  So leave at 7pm without us.

Too cheap to pay for your own fireworks? Fireworks Night Ride 5th Nov.

The weather looks pretty good tomorrow night so I’m going to take a ride up to Mugdock to see the fireworks going off across the city. The Glasgow Green display is going off at 7:30 so planning on meeting at the usual car park at 6:45 and riding up to a good view point. I’m going to take some mulled wine and stollen for mid ride refreshments.

For anyone who has the urge for a bit of fun racing this Sunday, there is a local cyclocross race happening over at Gleniffer Braes, Paisley. It’s a non-series Scottish Cyclocross race and there is a Halloween theme so it’s aimed at being fun! So why not stick on a scary costume and come and get filthy in Paisley! MTBs welcome as always. Heard from a mate that the grassy descent has all been chewed up by some woodland trust team who have erected a new deer fence. etc. Think it is the descent from the trig point he was talking about. FYI.

Lands end – John O’Groats

Hi Folks

This is my first post since joining a few months ago. A mate of mine has suggested the Land’s end – John O’Groats end to end as a target for next year. We were looking towards the first two weeks of the school summer holidays as possible dates. Beyond that we are not sure which route we will take (the mountain bike route is considerably longer by around 450 miles) and it will probably involve the road bikes. Hostels would be the main accomodation. Is there anyone in the club interested in joining us? or anyone who has done this ride?

That’s pretty much where we are with it at the moment although we are aiming to firm up the route and dates by mid November.
