Hi there,
I found an Ay Up battery pack lying on the road just outside the jet wash last night. Get in touch/post up if you think it’s yours.
cheers,
Graham

OK, not quite on the same ‘pimp my ride’ theme, while you were all working hard at the CX I was enjoying myself in London. Well not entirely true, I didn’t manage to hire one of Boris’s bike. However there were plenty of bikes to spot. I came across this very shiny SC Chameleon, high and dry up on the railings. It is kitted out for commuting with slick tyres and 6″ travel for the kerbs and mud guards for the mud? Is this consumerism gone crazy or am I missing the point? Can anyone explain it or even better it?
I also came across this drummer bike, so bikes can earn you money and not just leave you penniless. Any other ideas for making money out of your bike?
Hi all,
Well, that’s it done for another year! I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who mucked in and helped in any way with the cyclocross race, whether in planning, preparation or on the day. The feedback has all been really positive with comments on happy & helpful all the marshals and volunteers were. So thank you and well done everyone.
Also, well done to all the GMBCers who braved the mud and got their jerseys dirty, it was great to see you all racing.
Thank you to our sponsors Alpine Bikes who provided fantastic prizes and nice, shiny bags to put the goodies in.
The official results are now on the SCX blog.
Marky Mark’s Flickr will be updated shortly with photos of all the action.
I saw this today trawling the tinternet and thought it might make a nice Christmas present for someone you know or you might fancy one for yourself….

I’m hoping this thread might stick with people adding naff presents/ideas or even “if I only patented that sooner!” ideas like Neil’s milk carton crud catcher 😉

Check out the deal on their website. A few of us did this last year and it was fantastic value for money, especially if you don’t take a car over. We’re not sure if we will go this year but might be interested if there is some demand…
Hello peeps,
Believe it or not, it’s been two months since our last lycra free social night.
Venue is slightly different this time but has proved popular in the past. We’re meeting at The Curlers Rest on Byres Road (beside Hillhead underground station).
Time: 7.30 for 8pm
They have German Beer-Hall style tables in the upstairs which I can reserve if I can get a show of hands please. The grub is very good, the menu changes on a daily basis and they serve food till 10pm. They have a vast selection of speciality beers inc fruity ones, lager, ales, wines and spirits.

There’s always the option of Oran Mor for the after party! It’s the last social before the Christmas night out. I hope to see you there.
Cheers

Hi Folks,
After a successful and informative navigation skills course back in July we’re aiming to run more classes. Depending on the level of interest there will be 2 theory classes and 1 practical session (on foot, probably in the Trossachs) on offer. To ensure we have the best chance of running the classes I will open this up to non-GMBC members subscribed to the Yahoo mailing list on the condition that paid GMBC members have priority and non-paid up members pay the full price (£20 per course). Dates and details………..
After a blast around the soggy trails on Sunday morning, there is nothing better than a huge slab of delicious cake and a hot drink…… They welcome wet and muddy riders too, so support your local coffee shop and load up on some well earned carbs. Thank you Bullands for a perfect finish to the ride.
Hi all,
Firstly, to all YOGA participants, I’ll not make the Tues night ride due to a groupon deal, but I’m gonna head out earlier on the Wed night (honestly, it’s not cos of the poor weather forecast:-). I’ll be heading off from the club car park at 5.30pm and returning around 7.30pm before the start of the class around 8pm. I know you did that last time Euan, does anybody fancy joining me?
Secondly, I’ve been emailing the owner of Cyclejersey to find out what’s happening with our Club Clothing Order which I placed at the beginning of Sept. I’ve sent a few emails over the last fortnight looking for an update, but I’ve had no replies. I was given a lead time of around 4 weeks before I placed the order and emphasized the need for the tops before the Cyclocross race this weekend. I have no contact number and I suppose it’s a case of “let’s just wait and see!”
With our anniversary top order looking to be a big one, you’d think a little more attention to detail would’ve been implemented. But hey……maybe that’s just me!
Over and out
Barry
Just wondering how one might contact someone else, say groundskeeper John about ‘stuff’, without putting a general post up
Cheers
