seems so familiar…

Ordered a new bike today and so was considering which one would be victim of the “One in /One Out” policy. It’ll likely be ‘The Bunter’ a mtb wheeled custom tourer built in 1996 by Charlie Ralph of Alves framesets near Elgin. (It was one of the first 853 frames and quite nicely fillet brazed). While googling him I came across a lot of Retro Bike listings and one link to this bunch who appear to be local?

Charlie seems to be a favoured framebuilder. Needless to say I specced 3 dynamo braze on bosses for the frame just to make sure I had all options covered. Making me feel all nostalgic! I suppose there is space in the dunny at work?

Oh well,  breakable carbon arrives Monday p.m.!

FOR SALE – CUBE AMS 100

Before I put this on Ebay I thought I would give the club members the chance to purchase this bike. I bought it last year as a get by as my Ti hardtail was returned to the US and they were taking ages to replace. That has now been sorted so this is surplus to requirements.

The person I bought it from genuinely used it once or twice. I have used it regularly for a few months now but upgraded the shifters to new XT ones and Avid Elixer 5 brakes, XT 9 speed cassette, XT rapid rise rear mech and XT chain. I have also put a almost new Nobby Nic on the front and almost new Racing ralph on the back.

The standard bike which costs £1400 this year has some nice kit such as Reba forks, XT hubs. LX Deore cranks etc.

Size is small so Im 5’8″ and I wouldn’t recommend it for anybody taller. Suits short guy or most woman.

£600 to any club members interested.
