Dales Cycles MTB & E-bike Demo Day (Cathkin Braes)

Come have a go on some of the latest bikes from Scott, Specialized and Giant. We will have a selection of the 2017 mountain bike and e-bike models from each manufacturer available to ride around the full 5.5km loop at Cathkin Braes. With staff on hand to talk you through the models and set up the bikes ready for your test ride.
We will be running the day in two halfs, a morning session and an afternoon session. Please make sure you select the ticket for the time of day you wish to attend. Feel free to book one of each if you’d like to stay for the whole day.
What to bring
- This is a free event but due to limited spaces, we ask that you fill in the registration form prior to attending and print off the ticket which will be emailed to you. Please bring this along with you and present it to one of the Dales staff when you arrive.
- For security purposes. please bring along a photographic proof of ID (Drivers license, Passport etc) and a bank card. You will need a combination the two to secure a ride.
- Remember to bring your helmet, which is essential to be able to test ride a bike, along with any riding gear you would usually wear.
What’s on?
- The main event is the demo day, your chance to come and try out some fancy new bikes.
- We will have a GoPro to strap to anyone willing for a lap of the course, we hope to make a short video after the event so here’s your chance for a few seconds of fame! There’s a tick box on the registration form for anyone up for this.
- There will be bunny hop competition in the carpark with prizes for winners. This will be held at around 1pm. Along with smaller competitions throughout the day.

GMBC Clinic Night in Dales
We will be holding a Service Clinic on 14th of January specifically for GMBC members where you can work on your own bike with help from some of the Dales mechanics. Kicking off when the shop closes at 6pm we will have work stands set up and all the tools you will need to cover:
- surviving out on the trail
- servicing your bike after the ride
- getting the most from your brakes
Club Clothing Update
We had the club clothing launch at the hall last night and it was great to see so many old and new members up at the hall including a squad from Dales Cycles! Thanks to Dales Cycles for bringing along a ton of cake too! It seemed like the folks on both the Intro ride and Barry’s ride had a good time. Thanks to all who came along. For those who couldn’t make it here’s a wee summary of what was mentioned and what happens next:

GMBC/Dales Cycles Launch Night
Announcing the Launch Night in conjunction with Dales Cycles.

On the evening, we’ll be filling you all in on the membership benefits, we’ll feed you, water you & if you like what you hear, the GMBC guys can sign you up to the club on the night. We’ll have experts from leading suppliers there to help & advise you on the latest gear, as well as giving you access to our own staff & CYTECH mechanics who will take your questions and show you around the the workshop.
If you pre-register by Friday 10th Jan & come along on the night we’ll give you a goodie bag away with you full of exclusive goodies!
