GMBC Strikes Back (An Ochil Hills Ride Report)

So.  The Ochils.  It’s a GMBC “classic ride” (before my time).  It’s one that long-term club members (OK, Pete Morgan at least) talk about and get all misty eyed with tales of big climbs, great views and steep descents.  First, some history; last year Elizabeth, Jack, Dawn and myself decided to have a go at it.  We attempted it on a muggy, humid day where the tops of the Ochils were obscured by mist/fog/cloud and a hasty descent veering away from a fenceline saw us hopelessly lost and we spent about 2.5 – 3hours tramping about in the bog and moors before giving up and returning to Tillicoultry.  Ochils 1  : GMBC nil.  When Elizabeth suggested a re-match I was up for it.  What would happen this time?? Sunday MTB Ride Posted

Hi – My plan is to ride at Carron Valley in the morning and Cathkin Braes in the afternoon, cold drink in the westend afterwards.  Join in for any/all of the bits.  Details of the times and there’s an offer of a lift all on the events page.  Please post up on the events page if you’re up for it.  Hopefully see you there!

Website Login Problems Now Fixed!

Hi Folks,

Just a quick note to let you know that the website login problems have been resolved!   The site should allow you to get logged back in and post rides, stories, ride reports and get access to a list of club members to join for bike rides.  You can also upload photos to our Flickr account.  See the Help section on the website for, errr, help.

If you’re a new club member reading this and you weren’t set up with a login to the webpage because of the access problems then don’t worry as we’ll be setting you up with access in the next few days.  Also, if you’re returning to the webpage after the downtime and need a reminder of your login and want your password reset then drop an email to membership[AT]gmbc[DOT]org[DOT]uk

Website Login Problems

We’re aware of a problem getting logged in to the website and are trying to fix it. We’ll post an update when we know more.

NB: You may want to try the WordPress mobile app in the meantime. It seems fairly simple to use, if a bit limited.

Trail Maintenance: Sat. 13th April

Hi there – we’re doing our 3rd trail maintenance session of the Spring this Saturday up at Mugdock Park.  Although the trails are bone dry at the moment there’s still some remedial work to do for when the weather turns.  If you are planning on coming then please can you let me know by either posting up here or dropping me an email.

The plan for the weekend is as follows:
