To nobody’s surprise , a select two of us headed out tonight for a spin up to Loch Ardinning. It wasn’t so much muddy as biblical level wet.Much of the riding was under water and yet despite that, we had a riot. It was dodge the frog time as we took the longer route round the loch with the constant fat rain making its presence felt. With plenty of good chat ranging from retrobike to the latest doping revelations from the pro tour, we seemed to whizz round in double quick time with me getting back home to the west end just gone ten. Not bad for a decent length of ride on a wet October night.

Anybody riding tonight @7.45 (17/10)?
Weather looks proper minging tonight, but I’m bursting for a ride. Anyone else planning on being out?
Anyone riding tonight?
So the weather looks great, we’ve had several days without rain and the forecast is cold and crisp so who’s up for a sharp start at 7.45?
Cheers

GMBC’s Hilly Time Trial Course now on Strava
Hi folks,
I went out for a morning ride with OMD earlier this week and cruised round our (road) hilly time trial course so that I could create the segment. Here it is linked in the club discussion…

I was hoping to run another timed event again this year (as I did last year), but work has had the better of me on week-day evenings this year. Instead, get yourself out there, ride the segment and record some times 🙂

EK Roadride – Tue 14th August
maybe a bit off the beaten track for most, but a few of us are planning a Tue evening roadride round the hills behind East Kilbride. Leaving Lidl (Hairmyres) at 6 pm, 24 miles of quiet country roads and some reasonable hills. Pace around 16 mph so ride time about 1.5 hrs.
Forecast at moment looks ok and will post up if any changes.
Thanks
Arran, Sunday (12th)
I’d like to get away on Saturday or Sunday but Glencoe sounds a bit tough for me. If there are no better suggestions, I plan to go to Arran on Saturday, as their trail maps are available online, a few of them to choose from (18, 25, 35 k).
Would anyone be up for it or any other routes?
Ieva
P.S. I would even fancy to go for 2 days but it’s not realistic to get accommodation for such a weekend the last moment. Camping is an option, if I get any company.
any appetite for a 5 Ferries road ride this year ?
The ‘summer’ is ticking away, however the Calmac ‘summer’ timetable remains until part way through October.
I was wondering about a Sunday towards end of Sept, poss 30th, weather permitting ?
Southside Roadride – Thursday 9 August
A small group leaving Crookston at 6.30, traveling down Crookston Rd and through Renfrew at about 6.45 (don’t mistake us for ‘the bunch’ who go about 30mph). Pass Inchinnan about 6.50 then on via Bishopton, Langbank, over behind Gleddoch to the resurfaced Kilmacolm singletrack road, then home via nice roads and cyclepath via Paisley. 30-35 miles total, one big climb with great views of Firth of Clyde. Pace, steady but not too fast, bring a rear LED just in case. Should be home well before 9.
