Comrie Megaloop Photos

Another great day out!  Cold wind & icy trails in places but lots of smiles and stunning blue skies.  The ride had a bit of everything; fireroad, tarmac, singletrack, bog, a fat bike, llamas, and giant white wallabies – but sadly no micro-pigs.  Everything you’d expect from a GMBC bike ride.  Here’s a few photos:

Comrie Ride This Sunday

I know it’s a few days away yet, but the weather is looking semi-decent for Sunday so I’ll be doing a ride around the Strathearn area starting from Comrie Croft. It won’t be taking in any of the trail centre routes.

It’ll be about 40km with a cafe stop about two thirds the way round. Pack a sandwich and maybe a light just in case the ride takes longer or the cafe is closed for winter. The route isn’t hugely techy but does have a couple of short, tricky sections. The route is a mix of fireroad, singletrack, cycle path, quiet country road and moorland.

I’m heading up with Gary, aiming to leave Comrie Croft at 0930. The cafe there is closed for winter but the shop and toilets are usually open.

If you’re interested then post up or text / email me.

Short notice, Ayrshire ride this Sunday 15/11

CJ and myself (and Graham if his good lady lets him out!) are planning on heading up the river Ayr on Sunday if anyone else fancies it?.

Meeting at bannatynes gym in Ayr at 10am, it’s 50-60k depending on route, lots of really sweet singletrack, not a huge amount of climbing. Most of the ride is in tree cover, so pretty sheltered too.

Fireworks Night Ride – the plan

The Intro ride will need to leave the hall promptly at 7pm this week.  We’re aiming to be up at the Khyber Car Park about 7:30pm to (hopefully) catch the Glasgow fireworks from that vantage point.  Feel free to bring some munchies to share around and some fireworks of your own .  Stuart will be along with some mulled wine to keep us warm before the later ride joins us for the main event (Luke and his large incendiary device).   The forecast isn’t looking fantastic so dress for the elements.  Afterwards it’s the usual tea & biscuits back at the hall.
