Looks like the weather might clear up for tomorrow’s ride so I’ll be heading out. Who else is up for it?

Hi. Just a quick reminder that the Selkirk ride is this Saturday (09:30 start). IMHO, truly one of the best rides in the Borders! It would be a great ride if you’re planning on entering the excellent Selkirk MTB Marathon event. We can tailor the route to those present & the weather on the day as there are various options to shorten or extend the ride. The riding will require a degree of skill and stamina [not sure why I’m going on it then 🙂 ]. I’d say if you’re comfortable riding red graded trails at a decent speed you should be OK but the route is longer than the red at GT. The route has a mix of trail centre, open moorland track, fireroad and techy forest singletrack. Take food as there’s no cafe en route unless we opt for a descent and a climb. If you have any questions about the route then let me know. Cheers, Graham
Hi. I was contacted by Andy at Glasgow Cycle Speedway to publicise a taster session they’re putting on this Sunday. I think Andy’s on our Facebook group so you can contact him there or find a few more details at the event I’ve posted. I’ll be away in Aviemore this weekend (see the Aviemore event in the calendar) but if you’re in Glasgow and fancy something different then maybe contact Andy and head along. Hopefully there will be more chances later in the year if you can’t make this one.
On last night’s ride Dawn, Tom and myself were mulling over a trip away this weekend. The plan would be to leave Glasgow on Saturday morning, get some riding done, overnight in a hostel and bit more riding on Sunday. The location would probably depend on what the weather at the weekend is doing but at the moment we’re thinking of Aviemore.
Are there any other takers for a spontaneous away ride this weekend? If so, shout up and we’ll sort out logistics/trails etc.
Who’s rising tonight? Blue skies, no rain…we could even venture out to the Whangie?!!!
Watch out for glass in the car park at the club hall! Also, the tea urn in the kitchen isn’t working so you may struggle to get hot water (unless you bring a kettle with you – which I resorted to tonight!). We’ll sort out a kettle as soon as we can. You could always sample the bar……
The weather has dried up a bit and the forecast is looking good so who’s riding on Tuesday? Let’s see if good weather gets as many people out riding as last week’s pancakes.
I have a free morning on Tuesday if anyone fancies a road ride. My MTB is out of action so has to be a road ride. It’s my first road ride for 2014, so nothing major planned. Open to offers though.
Cheers
Jack
