A friend who works at the GFT mentioned a cycling film will be showing there in a few weeks, thought I’d pass it on in case you were interested….

All existing, past and potential members are invited to come along at 10:00 for a ride around our local trails. We would particularly extend the invitation to those who came to see what we are about at the GMBC / Dales launch night on Tuesday. You will be made most welcome and the ride(s) will be tailored to the abilities of those who turn up. Not to mention the weather and trail conditions.
To mark the first ride from MBSC we will be meeting back at the club for tea, biscuits and a bit of chat so that we can all get a feel for what facilities will be on offer.
There is ample parking and there will be bike washing facilities available.

So this Wednesday, the 15th Jan, is the last Wed night in the Church Hall in Stewart Street. I’ve been going along to these for 25 years, the club having started basing itself there a little bit before I joined, so this is the end of an era for me as well as GMBC. I’m intending to go along for the ride if the weather’s not too bad and will definitely head along for a post-ride cuppa from about 9.30pm in any case. There are a few others coming along too. Anyone else fancy coming along to mark the occasion?

Just a quick note to say a few of us are heading down to GT tomorrow. I’m still getting my fitness back so won’t be planning on a fast ride. Anyone is welcome to join us. Ride details here:

GMBC 2014 LAUNCH NIGHT!
Recently GMBC & Dales Cycles signed an exciting new sponsorship deal with amazing membership benefits, making new resources available to the club & its membership.
Now that we have confirmed this new partnership, we would like to invite both the current membership & anyone who is interested in becoming a member of the club to a launch night at Dales Glasgow store at 6:00pm on Tuesday 14th January…. See more
I WENT OUT ON SAT 4TH FOR A RUN FROM KILSYTH,AROUND BANTON LOCH,OVER CROY HILL THEN OVER THE ROMAN RUINS AT BARHILL FORT AT TWECHER AND BACK TO KILSYTH.THE ROUTE RAN REALLY WELL WITH JUST THE ONE VERY BOGGY PART(OVERSHOES HIGHLY RECOMMENDED) ON THE NORTH SIDE OF THE LOCH WHICH WAS STILL RIDEABLE WITH THE BACK TYRE SPINNING.
IT WOULD PROBABLY BE IN THE REGION OF A 2 + 1/2 HR RIDE WITH A FEW SHORT STEEP CLIMBS/DESCENTS, BUT NOTHING TOO SERIOUS AND THE VIEWS ARE WORTH IT. IT WOULD BE AN IDEAL WARM UP FOR THOSE GOING TO BALMAHA.
IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED THEN I WAS THINKING OF 10AM DEPART FROM THE BIG CAR PARK AT THE REAR OF THE COACHMAN HOTEL IN KILSYTH.
