There’s a few folk meeting Wed 9th at 7pm at the Stewart St car park for a medium paced ride for 2 to 2.5 hours should you wish to join us. This is not intended to replace the usual Wed 7:45 ride.

Cathkin this Wed evening ?
Trails are apparently finished, bar a couple of 20m sections. Surfacing is trail centre stylee so a good way of avoiding the Mugdock gloop. I suggest we meet at the normal top carpark, ready to ride 745. Post up if you fancy it.
Dumgoyne Loop – get out quick before it is closed off
I was out with Andrew last night and we did the Dumgoyne loop. The house near the top of the climb (behind the distillery) near the pipe track is in the process of putting up a very secure gate. Get out quick if you want to do it for the last time.
Carron Valley (Sunday 6/1/13)
I feel like keeping my feet relatively dry on some man-made trails, so heading over to Carron Valley on Sunday. Looking to put a number of laps in.

does anybody have a bona fide bike box.i am considering taking a bike on a family holiday next year to save my sanity and keep me from being like a slab of concrete round the pool.
so is anyone willing to hire out their bike box.been abroad b4 with mtb bike in card box but taking road bike and would prefer hard box.weighing up against hiring there.

Cathkin Braes: any interest in races?
Glasgow-based racer Rab Wardell is trying to gauge interest in a mountain bike race series at Cathikin Braes. His original post was on Facebook, but I’ve copied it below. Feel free to state your interest or discuss here, and I’ll pass it on to Rab.
I want to gauge interest in a local mountain bike racing series at Cathkin Braes next summer, running on Wednesday evenings. Would local riders be interested in events or volunteering? I’m thinking of short course cross country and maybe a mini downhill and enduro? Who’s interested?
Personally, I’d be interested in some fairly casual XC or Enduro races.

Passportes Du Soleil Event 2013
Dene has added this event to the calendar for the end of June. It takes place in the French/Swiss Alps and is an 80km-ish circuit starting from 1 of any 9 bases on any of 3 days that you choose. The vibe seems to be chilled out and aimed at enjoyment and experiencing the area (i.e. it’s not really a race, probably more akin to the Merida/mountain marathons). I don’t think you can sign up for the event until February.
Is there anyone else out there who is interested in doing this? I’ll be investigating flight & accommodation options over the holidays so if you’re interested then post up and I’ll get in touch about the details.
