Anyone up for a day in the lakes?

Robin, myself and possibly a few others are planning a days riding in the lakes on Saturday 17th of November, if anyone is up for it?. Planning a pretty early start, as we aim to be riding about 9am. Not decided where we are riding yet, but it will probably be something like this –

For anyone who has the urge for a bit of fun racing this Sunday, there is a local cyclocross race happening over at Gleniffer Braes, Paisley. It’s a non-series Scottish Cyclocross race and there is a Halloween theme so it’s aimed at being fun! So why not stick on a scary costume and come and get filthy in Paisley! MTBs welcome as always. Mugdock Ride – Sat 27th Oct

A few folks are leaving the usual Stewart Street car park at 10:30am on Saturday (27th Oct), with a cafe stop. Myself & Alison will be out but along a bit later (so don’t wait). We will catch up somewhere, probably at the cafe stop. We are heading out on Saturday as the weather looks much better than Sunday. Hopefully, some folks will be out on Sunday too.

Got to say, the techy boulder fest down the side of Yew Crag above Rosthwaite was the absolute dogs! Thanks to everyone – you all made it a fantastic weekend of riding in great weather and truly stunning surroundings!

thanks all, great trip! and special thanks to Dawn for selling her soul to a devil…weather was fab :-).  The thumb is pretty sore today and thinking back, maybe should not have done rest of the rocky descents as it just made it worse…special thanks for Robin for the painkillers :-).

Lakes Weekend Away – Chapeau!

Just a quick thank you to Graham for organising the Lakes Weekend Away. I’m particularly impressed that he was able to book such fine weather to coincide with his 40th!

Looking forward to seeing the pics and reading the ride reports from Walna Scar and the Borrowdale Bash.

Funnily enough, no one seemed keen to join Dene, Shearer, Kev and I on our Ambleside to Keswick mission. It ws a biggish day with some 8 hours of pretty much non stop riding (and carrying!). The descents were super technical and the views stunning. Heck, we even managed to get back in daylight which was a pleasant surprise.

Yesterday was Ullock Pike off Skiddaw and the silly steep descent off Doups. If you like steep, loose and rocky technical descending, you’d struggle to find anything steeper, looser or rockier. At times, it felt more like falling with style than riding as we plummeted down to the valley floor.
