Strathy park cyclocross tomorrow

It is round 5 of the cross racing tomorrow, a bit smoother and faster than Mugdock, track not as good of course, but worth a go for some fast (and cheap) racing – I will be there and Ross I believe. I rode out to spectate last year and it was good to watch, a nice wee ride out too along the clyde walkway too, and if you leave early you can avoid the jakies!

Deep Tissue Massage

Hi,
Anyone needing muscle knots and tension worked out, then I can recommend an hour of deep tissue massage with Karen at the Healing Place in Glasgow. Phone 07788 950613. Very competitive rates too, 1 hour is just £30.

Sunday away ride

For the first time in ages I’ve got use of the car this Sunday so is anyone up for an away ride? I can take up to two others in the car and happy to go anywhere – maybe Auchindrain, Ben Venue (if someone knows the route), kirroughtree or any other suggestions welcome. Supposed to be good weather.

Video: Barry’s Sluggangranish Mega Jump

The Aviemore weekender was definitely one of the best GMBC weekends
ever. Great company, trails, weather, and bothy & pub madness!
Did everyone hear about Barry's wee attempt to leave Earth's orbit
at the Sluggangranish mega jumps beside the fire road? I think we
were all surprised that he wasn't totally spangled after it.
Luckily, I caught it on video whilst the local rock bad were playing
somewhere through the trees. Hope your nerves have recovered Barry!

Aviemore Weekend Away – Trip Report

With the weather improving during the week this weekend away was being hotly anticipated by all 23 people signed up for it.  And it didn’t disappoint!!  There was bucketloads of gorgeous sunny weather, fantastic trails to explore and a lot of laughs and good club spirit.  Thanks to everyone who came along and made it what it was.  And thanks to the organizers (Sam, Ryszard & Dawn), chefs (Ross, Paivi, Simon & Dave), washer-uppers (everyone else) and brownie slicer extraordinaire (Rueben).

Bike theft…

Hi all, just got told a friend’s specialized crux cyclocross bike was stolen today from outside the dental hospital in town. If you anyone thinks they’ might’ve seen it or gets offered one at a price that’s almost too good to be true, get in touch and I’ll pass on any info. Apparently the bike was only 2 months old, and not cheap.

Keep your bikes well locked up out there folks!

AGM, Wednesday 30 November

As you’re hopefully all aware, the AGM is scheduled for Wednesday 30 November, 7:45pm at the hall.  The constitution (available here) states that “Items for inclusion on the Agenda of any General Meeting shall reach the Secretary at least fourteen days before the date of the meeting.” If there is anything that you would like to propose for inclusion, please mail me directly, or use info@gmbc.org.uk. The agenda will be published a week before the meeting.

As usual, all are welcome to attend, but only current members are eligible to vote on any matters. This is your chance to voice your opinions and shape your club, so please make the effort to come along.

Several members of the current committee are intending to step down, so we will need some willing mugsvolunteers to help run the club for the next year. If that is something that you are interested in, it’s a great way to put something back into the club, and doesn’t take that much time, so please get in touch and we can tell you more.

Friday Evening & Sunday Morning Ride

Hi all,

Due to commitments throughout the week, the earliest I can get on the bike is this Friday night. I know it’s not a conventional night as you’d probably be down the pub or watching X Factor repeats, but does anyone fancy joining me for a night ride round Mugdock. The weather looks good!

I’m also heading out on Sunday morning at 10am around Mugdock if anyone cares to join me?

Cheers

Barry
