Boxing day ride from Marina Cycles

Just a relatively chilled out social ride round an XC/gravel loop to work off the hangover and cabin fever from Christmas day. Start and finish at Marina Cycles, Kirkintilloch.

Back for 12. Tea, coffee and biscuits (maybe, who knows, even a mince pie) and temperature permitting, a hose, will be available at the shop after.

This could either be a lovely frosty ride or a total bogfest misery slog, but either way the company will be great (as long as you come along!)

Kilpatrick Hills hosted ride

A tour of trails at the western end of the hills starting from the main Kilpatrick Hills car park (signposted) next to Old Kilpatrick bowling club and very near the station. While there will be a fair bit of forest road the single track sections will be fairly demanding so gravel bike not recommended and if you have a full sus probably bring that. To start we will tackle the 300m climb up to Loch Humphrey to get you warmed up before heading through the Loch Humphrey East to West trail over to the Mr H / Greenlands 3 descent. After a climb back up forest road we will go to Spexy Beast and Hitman which are short but loamy and muddy forest off-piste. Once finished with those (multiple circuits are an option) we head back past Loch Humphrey and take a meander across Prime Ridge to the Slacks before returning across the top of the hill to descend by either Smell Ma Fingers (blue/red) or Fraggle Rock (red) (there is an optional black: 28 Inches if you prefer) all of which meet to finish on the Bottom Field New Exit which comes out at the cattle grids. WARNING: do not take the cattle grids at an angle especially if wet, they can easily break your legs.
