x1 Spare Ticket For Commonwealth MTB Event

Hi.  I have 1 spare ticket for the Commonwealth Games MTB event at Cathkin Braes (Tue 29th, 11am to 4:30pm).  £15 (face value) and it’s yours, first come, first served.  To reserve the ticket either post up on the club website, email me or phone/text (contact details on the club members page).

Ben Lomond Ride Report

Lots of punctures, a broken chain and some mysterious blood trails – all part of the summertime epic that was this week’s Ben Lomond ride.  We had an amazing night of weather with amazing views over towards Argyll and with the good breeze the midges were kept at bay until we got back to the car park.  The usual rocky descent didn’t disappoint with drainage ditches and tight switchbacks to negotiate.  It was great to see some new and old members out riding – glad you enjoyed it.  Here’s a link to some more of the photos:

Car Parking At The Hall

Hi folks. There’s been a request from the hall that we do not use the main car park closest to the hockey pitches, the one with the bike wash. So if you’re doing a local ride tomorrow (or any night from now on) please bear this in mind. The other parking areas are fine to use although there has been some space put aside temporarily to accommodate Commonwealth Games visitors so the overflow car park maybe be busier than usual.

Avid Elixer Brake Lever Clamps

Stab in the dark here. I’ve bought a set of Elixer 3 brakes off Ebay for the bike I’m building up for my daughter. They have however, come with the matchmaker clamps which are incompatible with the shifters I have. I know plenty have had Elixers but have swapped them for something else. I was wondering if anybody would like to swap their standard clamps for the matchmakers that I have. Alternatively I would be happy to buy the clamps.
