Anyone thinking of heading along for the ride tonight? Weather forecast looks not too bad – supposed to be dry until 10ish.

Miserable weather and snow piled up didn’t deter nine hardy GMBCers from this ride
today. The biting northerly wind kept the faff to a minimum and we managed to get off riding from Birnam just after 10. Continue reading
Just to confuse folks further, John and I doing Glen Ample loop tomorrow, starting at s leisurely 11am from car park for Ben Led, near Callander. After today do expect some snow to Lochearnhead, but route 7 back should be ok. Ride not technical, about 25mules. Bring lunch. Post if interested so we get there on time!
interested, or we wont be rushing to get there!
Last minute plan to ride up to Muirshiel Country Park tomorrow to have a play in the snow. I’m not sure there will be any takers with the normal Sunday mugdock ride and Stuart’s ride below. But if anyone is interested I’m planning on leaving Bridge of Weir around 9.30 and heading up to Muirshiel on the road, cutting through Barnbrock Farm and cycling/pushing onto Windy hill. It’s not a technical ride but conditions could be challenging.
If that sounds like your cup of tea please drop me a text on oh-7-seven-tree-too-to-nine-9-seven-five-tree or post up on Facebook (as I won’t be able to access WordPress later today).
I’m sure that there will be a local Sunday ride from the club on Sunday morning at 09:00. I’m thinking of something likely to be a little drier and less muddy though, so heading off to Carron Valley.
If you’ve not been before it isn’t the most technical of centres so would be ideal for those new to mountain biking or simply looking for somewhere that they can do a few loops without too much thought. I’ll be there and will be riding from 10:00. All welcome.

Last minute thought if anyone wanted to take a sicky and head to the slopes of Glencoe drop me a text on 07968124706.
Plan to leave about 7.00 and be there just after 9, roads permitting . . . . some fuel sharing would be appreciated
Cheers

Hi,
Just a reminder for this Saturday’s ride from Dunkeld. The weather forecast looks passable at the moment.

Hi. The forecast is for snow & sleet on Tuesday night. If you fancy getting out in that sort of weather then I’ll be in the car park for 7pm.
<wanders off muttering about the sanity of what he’s just posted>
Bike for sale from a pal. Wish it would fit me, I’d have had it!

It seems as though the Merrida/CRC Marathon series has been resuscitated as ‘MTB Marathon Series 2014’ and they’ve got a round at Drumlanrig.
Distances of 25-100km, more info here: http://www.mtb-marathon.co.uk/events/3rd-august-2014-drumlanrig-castle-scottish-borders.html
Even better, the picture on the website shows sun, so that’s legally binding I imagine.
Anyone else fancy it?
