…. Six was the magic number last night as Pistol Pete, Iainc, Chris J, myself, Rossco and Gavin headed out for a spin. Dougalston was despatched in quick time followed by a spin around the reservoir as we headed up to Loch Ardinning. Taking an alternative route I had scoped out a few weeks ago and which will make for a nice summer alternative, we popped out on the main Loch Ardinning trails having avoided the slough of despond where the cattle have done their best to make things unpleasant. It’s going to be dry after several days of settled weather so hopefully the trails will be in good nick.
I’m thinking something like Ardinning via Dougalston and the reservoir if folk are up for it? I’ve got an alternative way into Ardinning that would make a nice change from the usual.
Cheers

Hiya,
Off to North Wales in April, and after trawling online to find somewhere to stay, thought it might be good to ask for some reccomendations instead.
Looking for a bit of luxury rather than bunkhouse, just for a change! So, self-catering, somewhere with in easy reach of Coed Y Brenin and Betws Y Coed.
Anyone got any suggestions?
Cheers,
Sam
Anyone fancy some sort of decent length MTB ride next Sunday? Either starting local and heading further afield, or a trip away?
The book that tells me what to do is at my folks’ house, and I’m crap at thinking for myself so any suggestions welcome.
I’ll be out tonight (7pm) in case anyone fancies a local ride. Details:
Following the great effort last spring I’ve spoken to the Mugdock Ranger and we’ve arranged 3 dates during Spring to some more much needed trail maintenance. It’s a great chance to learn some new skills and put something back into an area that we get a lot of enjoyment out of. Mountain bikers are one of the few groups to actively volunteer their time in this way and it’s greatly appreciated by the Rangers.
Please take a look at the dates below and post up if you’d like to help out.
NB: sessions typically run from 10am to 3pm, if you have tools then great, if not then we should be able to supply some
I’ve just been informed that the hall electric heating was left on all night by either us or the yoga folks last Wednesday (13th).
It may have been left on by the yoga-ers and we’ve just not turned it off given we’re not the routine of switching it off. Either way, on leaving the hall please ensure the electric heating is turned off.
Else the hall might burn down and/or we’re contributing to anthropogenic global warming. Either way, we’re royally screwed.
