Drumlanrig – Sat 15th Nov @10am (Prompt – Ready to Ride)

Alison & I are planning to ride Drumlanrig on Saturday 15th Nov (unless the weather is dire). Meeting at 10am – Prompt – ready to ride, from the main car park. We need to be back on the road at 3pm as heading on down to the Lakes. Nothing too fast/techy as been loaded with the flu (at least that is my excuse). Not planning a café stop either. Please let us know if you are interested.

How good is your running?

Hey y’all,

So I managed to persuade Graham into the Bowhill Medium and Long duathalon. These are off road races down at the borders where you race off road on two wheels AND two feet 🙂  The race isn’t detailed in distance but in winning time as the terrain is more an important aspect than the actual distance. Gives you an idea of the race 🙂

the race is run by durty events and are well organised and good fun. More details can be found on their website www.durtyevents.co.uk and click on bowhill winter series. Entry is through entry Central. G and I are only doing medium(18jan) and long (22 feb)versions. We thought we would make a weekend of it staying local in a bunkhouse and doing some riding the day before. After all the race is only as serious as you make it -and am just going for the mud 🙂

we can co-ordinate accommodation on the events page Graham set up.

So. Who’s up for a challenge?

Intro Ride (Fireworks Night)

Tomorrow is the usual Intro night ride but with a twist!  It’s going to be a cold, clear night so wrap up warm, grab some munchies and maybe a hot drink (some mulled wine is being planned I believe) and we’ll head up to get a view of the fireworks across Glasgow.  We’ll need to leave the hall sharpish to make it up enough in time.  After we’ve seen our council tax go up in smoke we’ll carry on with a bit more riding before heading back for the usual cuppa.  It’ll be cold and we’ll be stopped for a while after riding uphill so take warm clothing. </dadMode>

It’s puffer time….

strathpuffer registration is on Wednesday, anyone planning to do it?. Myself, Klaus and Robin are planning a solo attempt (and both are joining the club too, sweet).

Hopefully get in touch with Dales soon to get a loan of the big gazebo again, as it was great last year!.

Timber!

Take it easy hacking down through the quarry from Hole In The Wall.  There’s a tree down after the berm, and I wouldn’t recommend finding out while zipping around at warp factor 9 as I did tonight.  There’s another down at the end of Mangina; you have to crawl under it, but it seems stable and there’s room to drag a bike through.

Just Angus and me out on a lovely clear (and cold) night, trails still riding surprisingly well considering the deluge.
