25th Anniversary Weekender- Whose Coming?

Hi All,

Based on the levels of interest expressed for the 25th Anniversary Weekender in August (17th-19th), the committee has booked the hostel. Now we need to fill!!  As you know, we need to atleast 20 people to commit to staying both nights, at a cost of approx. £20ppn. This will be dependant on the numbers and who commits.

Graham has created a fancy Google form for you to fill in. This will help us to not only work out number of beds required, but also asks for your ideas of activities you’d like to offered over the weekend.

If you wish to bring family, partners or children you will need to fill one out for each person in your group, but we can work out that you are together! The hostel does have some family rooms, which will be allocated on first come first term basic to those requiring them.

Due to the rapidly approaching date, we need everyone who wishes to come to fill the form in by Friday 13th July, to give us time to work out the payment details etc.

Let’s all make this a great 25th Anniversary- we should all have our tops by then! ;-))

GMBC rides Peaks ( or Yorkshire)?

In May, some of the GMBC riders visited little Hamlet called Brereton, rode some of the local trails and drank fair amount Jack Daniels ( and sherry!). It was great to see you all and without me needing to drive up to Glasgow :-).

Someone did say that it would be good to have another trip planned for early Autumn and we could either do Peaks again or head to Yorkshire.

Well, I am happy to organise it but need to know when, where and how many people ? Couple of ideas below. Continue reading

Introductory Ride – Thurs 28th June – 7pm

Myself & Alison are planning to be at the club car park (Stewart Street) on Thursday night at 7pm (ready to ride time) for an easy paced ride. The ride will be mainly pitched for any new comers who fancy riding with the club. I am not intending a fast and super technical ride but am happy to vary the ride depending on who turns up.

PS The usual night for introductory rides is Wednesday, however, I have been unable to make it along so far and am keen to give people the option of a Thursday this week.

Ben Lomond – Wednesday 27th June

After Chris’s post and a quick scratch of the head I though it might be a idea to head up the Ben next Wednesday. Given that we have daylight until pretty late we should be able to descend in day/twilight.

Unless its chucking it, it’ll be a decent wee night ride. If its raining then I’ll look at a plan B option. Planning to meet at Rowardennan Pier car park ready to ride at 6.30pm.

I’ll pop it in the calendar if there’s enough of a show of hands. Kev and I are in so far.

Bike Week Ride Attendance

Hi Folks,

We’ve got the Bike Week rides planned for next week and given recent advertising there’s the chance that we’ll have a few more folks out than normal so I’m looking for a show of hands from “club regulars” who will be out for the 7pm rides next Tue/Wed.  Why?  Well, it’s just in case we need to split the rides to suit the different abilities that come along that night.  To do that it would help to have 2 club regulars on each split ride so people don’t get lost.

Here’s how it’s been advertised via Bike Week.  Nothing too different from what we normally do to be honest.  I’m aiming to be out for both 7pm rides next week and from a Committee meeting earlier tonight I think there’s Sam, Ryszard, Robin, Stuart and Barry for some/all of it too.  Anyway, post up if you’ll be there!
